Charlotte Vandermeersch @ EDP
On Thursday, March 27th, Charlotte Vandermeersch visited Erasmus De Pinte. She’s an actress involved in a variety of projects. Not only does she act in theatre productions, films, and series, but she has also directed a film with her partner, Felix Van Groeningen. That day, she answered questions about her career that the 5th- and 6th-form students of the Modern Languages programme had prepared for her visit.
She began by introducing herself and sharing details about her previous projects and interests. Ms. Vandermeersch also spoke about how she first got into acting. She told us about some of the more challenging experiences she’s faced in her career, such as a scene where she had to drown inside a car. It was especially difficult because of the lack of oxygen underwater and the amount of time she had to wait before resurfacing. She also gave us tips on managing stress and acting. For instance, it’s easier to get into character by rehearsing lines in your own dialect.
We learned a lot about acting and her career, and it was a very interesting experience. We all walked away with valuable lessons that will help us in our Language Lab projects.
